Luenen, September 2, 2024 – HBT GmbH in Luenen is delighted to welcome five new trainees to its team. At the start of the 2024 training year, the young talents will join the company in various specialist areas from September 2, 2024, taking an important step towards their professional future.
“We are proud to accompany committed young people at the start of their careers and to support them in their professional and personal development,” says Christoph Koslowski, CEO of HBT GmbH. “Our trainees are the subject matter experts of tomorrow, and we attach great importance to offering them high-quality training. We are delighted to be welcoming trainees back to the Westfalia Campus after 4 years”
The new apprentices are starting their training in the following professions:
- Machining mechanics: Niklas Höppner and Henrik Rohman
- Electronics technician for industrial engineering: Lennox Landvoigt
- Industrial clerk: Emily Schlicht
- Industrial clerk: Leon Vieting
With comprehensive training that includes both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, HBT GmbH ensures that its trainees are well prepared for the demands of the job market. The close cooperation with experienced colleagues gives the trainees a deep insight into their future fields of activity and at the same time promotes team spirit within the company.
For the industrial apprentices, part of the basic practical training in the field of metal technology takes place at our cooperation partner Wilo SE, a global technology group in Dortmund. The theoretical knowledge for the trainees is taught at the Lippe Berufskolleg Luenen (LBK), the Hellweg-Berufskolleg in Unna and the Leopold-Hoesch-Berufskolleg in Dortmund.
“Promoting young talent is a high priority for us. We are certain that our new trainees will make valuable contributions to our company and look forward to accompanying them on their way,” adds Christof Jürgens, Head of Training at HBT GmbH.
Training is a high priority for HBT GmbH, especially at the Luenen-Wethmar site, where apprentices were last trained in 2020 at the predecessor company Caterpillar Global Mining Europe GmbH. Despite the plant closure announced at the time in March 2020, the trainees were able to successfully complete their training thanks to the support of the BANG network (“Vocational training network in the commercial sector”), which stepped in as a training company and ensured the training of the 13 trainees from Lünen.
In February 2023, the entire longwall mining technology division was taken over by Hauhinco Holding GmbH, and the company has been operating under the name HBT GmbH (Hauhinco Bergbautechnik) ever since. With the return to increased in-house production, the company is once again able to actively engage as a training company this year.
